I’m Vanessa, and I’ve spent much of my career organising events, first at the BBC and now in the voluntary sector. I’m also a qualified Open House tour guide, with a longstanding love of London’s history, architecture and cultural life.

I love discovering the stories behind the places we often walk past without a second thought. I’m naturally curious and am always signing up for art history courses, talks and tours, or looking for somewhere new to explore.

Some of my favourite days combine a fascinating place, learning something new and continuing the conversation over a good lunch or coffee. That was the idea behind Remarkable Places.

I choose places and experiences I’d genuinely be excited to visit myself, often working with expert guides who can take us beyond an ordinary visit. Groups are kept relatively small, giving everyone the chance to chat, meet new people and enjoy the experience together.

Remarkable Places brings together the things I love: interesting places, new discoveries, good food and good company. I hope you’ll enjoy discovering them with me.
